Website Layout-ing: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and a Nav. Bar!

1. Briefly describe what you PERSONALLY accomplished today:

My journey into creating our website has reached new heights today. I finished making any adjustments to the Photoshop of our layout, then figured out how to slice the images so that I can import them into Adobe Dreamweaver. One of my main accomplishments of the day was creating the navigation bar of our site, which is even better than what I pictured it to be when I drew out the design. A really important thing that I learned today, thanks to spencer (no thanks to internet tutorials...) was how to layer text on top of an image. This is definitely something that I've wanted to know for a while, and not only will I be able to utilize it for our website, but I will also use it for future web design projects. My process in creating our website has so far taught me quite a few things that I didn't know beforehand, and further developed my skills in graphic design.

Here is a sample of our website. Keep in mind that this is just a sample page, not our actual website. Once I figure out the mechanics of everything, I will recreate our website with a more updated design.

2. Briefly describe what your TEAMMATE(S) accomplished today:

Emily is pretty far into her research of animals, and has so far already created 15 profiles. All throughout today she showed me the different types of animals she was studying and telling me a brief description about them. An interesting animal that she looked into was the tapir, which is curiously related to the rhino and horse. Unfortunately Chelsea was out sick today, however being the good team player that she is, she emailed both Emily and how she is going to continue work from home. She described that she was going to continue researching the numerous plant species in wetlands.

3. Briefly describe how you and your partner(s) ASSISTED each other today:

Our independent work has allowed our group to progress smoothly in our project. We are definitely ahead of schedule by at least a couple of days. By working on our own individual portions of the project we are not only helping one another by sharing the information we learned but we also share the different skills we are gaining through the project. For example, Emily was wondering how I was creating the website and I was able to explain the different methods I used, which could prove to be helpful for her.
